Director Raymond De Felitta is in the throes of preparing "City Island" for release in the United States by screening it all over the planet (Poland, Brazil, etc.), including an "OTX screening" in Paramus, NJ.
Of the "City Island" Paramus screening, Raymond says in his blog:
I hate to be the one to tell you (being as I'm the creator of the subject of this little lab experiment) but our movie scored a mind-boggling 91 percent approval rating.
I have been told by many savvy insiders that they have never heard of a film scoring so high in a test screening.

MovieSet.com's Behind-the-Scenes covered "City Island" that -- rumor has it -- will premiere next month (4/21/09) @ The Tribeca Film Festival. Can't seem to find a link to the TFF schedule from their site yet.

Lighting the fire behind indie films.
Empowering film makers.
Revenue goals inflate.
Geocentricity.
Long-tail.
Quality emotional content.
Distribution ideas.
Don't worry too much about theatrical release.
Long-term thinking is important: the library.
The pink elephant: "Let's go to the movies" = "Let's donate to this film for its DVD release."
80% of sustainability is in economic politics as yet unready to support indie film.
It all has to do with numbers, there are two kinds of films: either spend multi-millions or hardly anything; films made by the rich or the young.
How the Internets change everything. "The Secret" as example.
Go to your core audience.

Last Words
They are very good in my humble estimation.
Please check them out @ MySpace.
Over on Facebook, Paul writes:
Anyone know someone with too much money and not enough deductions that might be interested in helping me get out of this lifestyle? If you do, call me.
I am looking for a way to help people pay more attention to the little details in life.

Meditation
This is an ongoing conversation on meditation started by Deepak Chopra @ Seesmic.
Chopra's giving it away over there and yet, I'm guessing he's doing as well or better in his making a living having given it.

Already the N96 media ripples begin to spread around the interwebs.

Here's Grace Piper's Qik player, to which she's narrowcasting live with her own Beta-test N96.
Last night I watched a movie in one tab, with Grace's Qik page open in another.
Soon began to hear laughter & voices obviously not part of the movie.
Startled, I jumped & became briefly nervous, wondering where in heaven's name the voices were coming from, but soon realized it was only Grace & friends; with a Qik page open, live broadcasts automatically update and come through. Inadvertently followed Grace throughout her Thanksgiving Eve shenanigans. Fun stuff.
Have long lamented being unable to broadcast live with AT&T's 8525, and to the end of ending said lamentation, have often checked with Qik's 'Supported Phones' page, where they've just recently begun to delve into software for pocket pc's and smart phones. With the arrival of my own Beta N96, I shall have a chance to see how this amazing application can work.

Amy Redford's "The Guitar" makes its theatrical debut this week @ THE SUNSHINE CINEMA | 143 East Houston Street | NY, NY.
The trailer's fabulous, as were Amy and Saffron to work with.
HERE is the movie website.
This is the description of the movie from the email:
"The Guitar" is the story of one woman's spiritual, emotional and creative transformation. After being diagnosed with a terminal illness, fired from her thankless job and abandoned by her boyfriend, Melody "Mel" Wilder (Saffron Burrows) blows her savings and maxes out her credit cards to pursue her dreams. The life affirming experiences she encounters on her voyage transform her irrevocably.

Yes, we're getting really good tracks.
Yes indeed.
Many compromises and imperfections, but...it's all there (mostly).
Tired but satisfied.
Greek in proportion.

And I can't help but think it's a really good thing that the production's sharing exquisite moments before the fact.
After only a week of production, the crew is of one mind about helping to make "City Island": it's gonna be a great little movie.
POST NOTE: added '&fmt=18' to the end of the YouTube url within the embed code in order to bring you a higher-resolution version of the footage.
