Sundance Panels :: Panic Button - Part 2
Lighting the fire behind indie films.
Empowering film makers.
Revenue goals inflate.
Geocentricity.
Long-tail.
Quality emotional content.
Distribution ideas.
Don't worry too much about theatrical release.
Long-term thinking is important: the library.
The pink elephant: "Let's go to the movies" = "Let's donate to this film for its DVD release."
80% of sustainability is in economic politics as yet unready to support indie film.
It all has to do with numbers, there are two kinds of films: either spend multi-millions or hardly anything; films made by the rich or the young.
How the Internets change everything. "The Secret" as example.
Go to your core audience.![]()

My Pal / Colleague Paul Plays Drums in a Band
Last Words
They are very good in my humble estimation.
Please check them out @ MySpace.
Over on Facebook, Paul writes:
Anyone know someone with too much money and not enough deductions that might be interested in helping me get out of this lifestyle? If you do, call me.
He also writes:
I am looking for a way to help people pay more attention to the little details in life.
Can anyone help him?

Deepak Chopra on Seesmic :: Meditation
Meditation![]()
This is an ongoing conversation on meditation started by Deepak Chopra @ Seesmic.
Chopra's giving it away over there and yet, I'm guessing he's doing as well or better in his making a living having given it.![]()

Haskell Wexler's "Who Needs Sleep?"
Must research where I can get my hands on this film.
Ah-ha! One may order the DVD HERE.
Current job "City Island" has been darned civilized, I'm guessing primarily due to the producers' and director's inherent humanity, and less so, budgetary concerns, since by our contract after 14 hours the crew goes into triple time.

Ezra Miller :: Clown
Rebecca? Where's that darned portrait of me n' Raymond in our robes? Get that shite up, yo!
Copped this image from Raymond De Felitta's blog to upload here so show them (in part) how a City Island Flickr account could benefit them.
Photo by Cecelia B (I think). Her Mum and Da are so proud.
Folks will be able to easily blog this image if they wish.
Easily touched and shared.
Come play with us over @ Flickr.
POST NOTE: Here's a link to someone who knows Cecelia B: CLICK ME!.
[Social Object Lesson]
I don't know the copyright status of the enclosed, pilfered image. Were the image hosted @ Flickr, that would be obvious. I lean toward setting these things free to the blogosphere.
Lovely portrait, no?

Bwah-hahahaha. "City Island" Blooper
Yes, we're getting really good tracks.
Yes indeed.
Many compromises and imperfections, but...it's all there (mostly).
Tired but satisfied.
Greek in proportion.

Signs of the Times :: The Economy Sux
.:. Faux Press .:.
Yeah.
Remember when neraly every car in NYC featured hand-written signs taped to a rear window that said things like, "Don't bother. Everything's been stolen already," or, "Sorry, nothing left."
People react to having been violated by making signs.
Signs of the times.

Re-vlogging Lawrence Lessig :: THE Idea for the 21st Century
Okay. I tend toward hyperbole, but this is honestly one of the best ideas toward action and change I've heard lately.
Unsurprisingly, this comes from the same fellow who gave us one of the best ideas of the 20th Century: the Creative Commons.
Listen.
Then listen again.

Lessig's Not Running
[source]
It's the correct decision, so the disappointment was fleeting.
The netroots discourse begins.
Heard the word 'netroots' - as in 'netroots movement' - for the first time yesterday in an KUOW's "The Conversation" podcast that asks a distinguished panel to address the nature of freedom on the web.
"What is Freedom on the Web?"
In context of the legal censure of wikileaks.
[KUOW source]
.
DIGRESSION: Whistleblowing without fear of reprisal - and further - with reward - will be an essential not-yet-culturally-supported tool in combating the corruption Lessig has vowed to fight. How may culture support that behavior?![]()
