The firehouse's communications system was completely retro. Utterly analog. The guys say that all NY firehouses sport the same circa-1960's technology. Love the handpainted image of the device used to communicate to the firehouse via loudspeaker alongside the allowed-to-go-out cigar. Perfect somehow.
