Grocery Shopping

The vegetable department appears ravaged; looks like some third-world grocery. Green beans and asparagus looked fresh.

Some bad weather.

In the south.

In the west.

A reminder how fragile, how precarious our existence.

Traveling across I-80 through the Poconos: 15 or 20 miles of thousands upon thousands of trees whose tops were sheared off from snow weight & wind.

I'm just asking: where ought we to be spending our tax dollars?

Pandemics in the news.

John Raitt is dead.

Why did Hunter S. Thompson blow his brains out?

The snow on the trees was lovely and the neighborhood quiet in the hush of frozen water.
