Oh, Yonkers! Jersey's less-pretty sister.

Both hugged by heaven's ruffled hem of river,
two siblings joined and divided by the Hudson vein
that was enough to wash away the deadliest sin.

Holy river. Bedrock.

Born and built for commerce --
by virtue of her elements --
Yonkers works for a living.

Jersey's east-most cliffs
Accommodate not labor but ease.

'Saw Mill' and 'Palisades' say it.

Hard in even articulation,
'Yonkers' says more.
