This family has decided that their kids should all play instruments. As part of the deal, each must play at least 2 songs at family gatherings. Incentive. Entertainment. A return to the campfire

I love the music idea. All our kids played musical instruments (now one teaches music and the other is in a band!). It made family gatherings so special to have them all get together with their various instruments.
