Faux Press Vlog :: At The Bath Remix

Annie and my pal E., Voiz, Steve & Carol/Carol & Steve, Ryanne & Jay, Raymond & Kristina all have me thinking about how isolated I've felt since moving to NJ. Finding a new community here seems daunting.

Deeply missing the Williamsburg, Brooklyn vortex of artistic endeavor.

Bottom line is - and what I learned during the making of this vlog entry - that friendships do not disappear but accumulate, and none of us is alone.

  1. Hi Jan,
Wow talk about opening you life up to others. I think this is one of the most beautiful video blogs I've experienced yet. We can be in the busiest city in the world surrounded by millions of people and feel totally alone. I think one of the reasons people get on the Internet, be it chat rooms, personal web sites, bolgs, podcast or videoblogs is to connect with others. You've connected with me and I hope I to you.

  2. Hey Doug,

Thank you from the bottom of my formerly country heart. Could never do the chat room thing because it lacked human dimension for me. Could never get a sense of people let alone bond through typed words to the extent that I could open up in a meaningful way.

Have been making micro-films since 1986, some of them seen on television, but nobody ever wrote me a letter as a result.

In the video blog world, folks take your stuff and make new stuff out of it because they were inspired. Inspired!

There is enough digital dimentionality revealed to actually have a conversation about things we care deeply about in ways that transcend or approach a few hours chatting & laughing in a cafe. ;)

You impressed me by taking the time to share an important yet simple way we can help the environment.

And then, you go and make my day by posting these lovely words on my site.

Yeah. It's like that, isn't it? Back and forth.

It's going to be a good day.
