Sound Department in TriBeCa :: Rolling Move
I'm guessing the photograph of the sound department was taken by Phil Caruso, "City Island" intrepid still photographer, who's apparently added some kind of DRM code to his images. Phil...don't make me stop this car! The photo doesn't show up in the blog, but HERE is a direct link to it, and HERE is a link to the original post over at Movies 'Til Dawn.
Paparazzi were out in full force that day, and one took this swell photograph of Andy.
Even paparazzi don't DRM their pix.

After only a week of production, the crew is of one mind about helping to make "City Island": it's gonna be a great little movie.

Make Media Any Time, Any Where w/Seesmic as tool
Posted earlier the beginning of a conversation about my process of being part of "City Island" with Seesmic as conversational film making tool.
It's been a while since I played @ Seesmic, but their player - to which one may reply in video without ever leaving my page - brilliant - has grown up. Come of age.
All you need is a webcam, Camtwist, and a Seesmic account.
Everybody on set's got one.
Most sets have wi-fi.
Show folks what's what in 3 minutes or less.
It's really fucking easy.
We're all film makers, damnit. Superior technicians.
Why wouldn't we make media?
The question is: can we do it right? Will production trust us with the responsibility? Will something beautiful be made of it one day? What will the unions make of this? Are we not all bloggers / videobloggers / still photographers / prop masters / film makers?
Cheap tools & technology, baby.
Should we not reap benefits from this expanded endeavor all the way around?
Seesmic.
Think high-tech, lo-fi.
Think ubiquitous.

Pay More
Don't know if y'all are aware, but I read the entirety of "Lady Chatterley's Lover" by D.H. Lawrence into the public domain in podcast format.
Just had a wee mention of it recently, HERE, so I'm thinking about the project in retrospect.
That son-of-a-bitchin' thing took me a year-and-a-half to complete. I thought something good would come of it. Not so much: a couple of friends from around the planet and $14.
On second thought, the friends are worth a LOT. You know who you are :)

Each chapter took me at least six hours to make.
If you've got a time-sensitive, send-it-out-in-order kinda project that may or may not require password protection, FeedCycle's for you. WARNING: You have to hand-enter posts, so if your media is already posted on the net, you'll have a bit of detailed transfer-of-information to deal with.
What that article brings to mind is the fact that I'm not world-class at anything but being a catalyst. Sure, I know how to do a lot of things. That's only because I'm easily bored and can master a thing easily. Once I get a single bit of traditional success (an award or publication or performance), I'm soon on to the next thing.
It's a kind of curse.
What's stuck with me is making motion pictures.
That's why I'm on the planet.
